Open the door Jeremy.

We've had our fair share of motel 6 experience.
Tonight we are in Madison Wisconsin at a "special" motel six!
Now, we know we are teachers and with that said we don't like labels! But this motel 6 is equivalent to a group home.
After a long day of driving and trying to stay on a budget we chose to stay outside of Madison. We found a motel six and it was cheap!
We went across the street and treated ourselves to a dinner at Denny's.
Back to the motel and it was time to organize the car. We needed to get rid of some of our junk. We had se beer leftover so we gave it to the front desk staff and they were so excited! Rebecca noticed a security guard with a gun behind the desk. Strange, but at least we are protected.
After Rebecca told Jeanne to go to room 201 to see if we needed our sleeping bags ( yes most times we sleep in our $15 sleeping bags in the motel) she came back outside saying the key wouldn't work. Oops. Wrong room! Rebecca has completely lost her brain.
We walk up to room 202 to see the security guard standing in the hall. We asked him if he was looking for us. He laughed and said not yet!
We proceeded to our room and the security guard followed us. Seriously dude, are we ok? Yea!
We enter our room and hear him banging on the door to the room next to us.
"open up Jeremy"
We hear some mumbling and then
"open up Jeremy before I open the door" we kept our ears to the door to listen. Jeremy wasn't letting mr security in and had blocked the door with a chair. Finally he was told you have five minutes to get down stairs.
We opened our door and asked the security guard if we were safe here. He said yes! Rebecca said but why do you know that man by his name?
We should have brought a dog with us. The security guard promised us we were fine and he was on duty till 4 am.
We'd rather be camping with bears!

So off to do laundry and we are so confused as to where we are staying. Is it a hostel? Is it a nursing home?
We made friendly conversation with the staff as we were waiting to get quarters in the lobby.
A lady came in with two dirty blankets.
the old man walked in who has smoked 15 cigarettes in the 10 minutes we have been here. With his walker and slurred speech he was mumbling not sure if he was intoxicated. Just a visual for you guys. He would like to change rooms for the night but he swears his room is clean! $13 what a bargain! Then in walks Sasquatch into the lobby. That is when all control was lost. We laughed so hard Jeanne had to walk out. All we wanted were some quarters! And we got to see the circus side show as we waited! We were told that some people are long term residents! Shocker!
No more motel six on this trip!notice Jeanne is sleeping with her flip flops on! Why? We don't know what is on the carpet. The smell in the room is making Rebecca gag. Note picture! There is even a lady living in here with her cat! Jeremy next door in room 204 is behaving. Rebecca made. Conversation with him. He is harmless. Just. A little special!
