Is it safe to walk across the street to McDonald's ?

So our first unplanned adventure begins! Key word: UNPLANNED. Yes, that means going on a road trip without any plans!
So our first "plan" was to get up early with Andrea and get on the road. Andrea did say she will wake us up at 6 am so we could get going. And Andrea came through! However when Andrea left for work our heads hit the pillows! Let's just rest a little longer, just a few mins! Uh-no! An hour and a half later we rolled our sunburnt bodies out of bed and packed the car! A little behind schedule! No big deal, it's an UNPLANNED road trip!
So we are off! On our way to "camp" at Yosemite !

First stop, the sequoia park! There we will find the general sherman! Way cool! So since this was an unplanned road trip we didn't need to research or reserve anything. Just go!

After our long drive to sequoia we were greeted by a handsome park ranger who collected our $20 to enter the park. $20 for one day or seven but there was no daily rate! a little confusing but well worth every penny! Plus they are doing construction in the park so the money is being well used However, since this trip was unplanned we didn't realize that there was construction in the park and they only open the road once every hour. No biggie we can sit and enjoy the jerk in front of us with his camper that almost fell over around every bend onto our sweet little rental car.

Once inside we were in awe of the amazing trees! They were so incredible they almost looked fake. We waited our turn among the many visitors to take our photo with the general. He was amazing. The biggest tree. You would never believe how massive they are until you are standing next to them.

After our visit with the general it was off to climb Moro rock. We were told the views from up there were fantastic. It's just a rock lets climb it! What we failed to realize was that a rock can be very high! We mean very high! It doesn't help when Jeanne has a fear of heights! Rebecca was so excited to be up so high she kept going to the edge and running ahead of Jeanne who was often found frozen in fear. However we both made it to the top and have pictures to show!!!

Now off to Yosemite, but first we must gather some pine cones to bring back as gifts! Yes that's right we are on a budget so we thought we could collect pine cones for all of you!
Problem was we weren't quite sure that was allowed. So we pulled over and found a whole bunch of them. Rebecca jumped out and gathered as many as she could in 20 seconds and threw them in the back seat! Woohoo. We did it. Pine cones for all of you!
And we didn't get in trouble. There were no signs that said do not pick up pine cones... Don't worry, your gifts are legit!
We were back on the road to Yosemite! We decided that it was getting late and maybe since nothing was planned we might want to call and see how late we can get a camp site. Key word UNPLANNED. Yea we found out that you can't just roll up to a campground without reservations during the summer season especially at yosemite. Ok lesson learned. We will stay in a hotel for tonight get up early and hit Yosemite tomorrow!

Let's unpack the car and get settled in. Hhmmm why are there giant red ants all over our luggage? Correct! You guessed it! None of you are getting a pine cone.

The pine cones are in the parking lot of motel six with the ants and we are sleeping in sleeping bags on a mattress. I think I may just have been bitten by a red ant as I write this in my red sleeping bag in motel six in Fresno surrounded by cops that are extra protection in this hood. In the city, the city of Fresno we keep on rocking......

Ps Don't worry moms and dads we did buy a knife for protection while camping!
